I want to loose 74lbs. I am very overweight for my age and height. I hear so many good things about some diets then turn around and I'm hearing a ton of bad stuff too. All this feedback so far is pretty accurate. Just remember 100% cotton is not a good thing in the snow. You want synthetic material cause it won't hold the sweat. Cotton absorbs the sweat and stays wet, and guess what that turns to when it's cold. Places sell "first layers". They are just synthetic materials to help breathe. I always wear a first layer (or cheaper equivalent), then something over that and then my jacket. The waterproof pants is needed cause beginners sit on their **** a lot. The waterproof rating on expensive jackets of 10,000 is not a joke. You need it waterproof cause when snow turns to sleet and wetter, you get saturated. If you get lucky with sunny days in the snow then you'll be fine without waterproofing. But sunny days are rare. Have fun. You will love it!!

No. There are too many hiding places. Those mountains and caves spread out for what seems like an eternity. All the taliban/Al Quada will ever do is just hide out or take off for a while and come back. One effective way to win though would be to give stability back to the country and let them fight them off themselves. They would have the upper hand knowing the terrain, being used to the climate, and would fight harder knowing they are fighting to preserve their way of life.

Does parking lot hawking annoy you and confound you?

I just don't understand the mentality behind it. You know those people that will cirlcle the lot forever to find the closest spot they can get, and ask you are you leaving or follow you in their car and then get mad if you say no or I'm on the far side of the lot. I thought the price of gas being the way it is and time being money and whatever would deter them to some degree but it seems that they are just in more abundance. I always find the most distant spot possible to park in, even if the whole lot is empty, because I like walking. I sip on my flask, smoke a cigarette or a J-Bone and just kick it on my walk to the store.

there are levels at my gym... but it has nothing to do with how we train (I am not even sure what it is about) ... but our cl is 4 days a week for 1.5 hours each, the first two days we do stretching ... then 6 rounds of focus mitts... then we work different sparring techiniques.. then to finish the cl we work with Thai pads (basically to the point of exhaustion)... the third day starts out with sparring drills, changing partners every round, then to boxing, then to kickboxing (full free sparring), and we finish the cl by rounds of clinch sparring (usually about 15-20 rounds (3 minute round 1 minute break) total)... and the last day of the week is all full sparring ... again changing partners every round... its nice to have to have some new guys so you can slow down and work with them.. and it is almost like a round off for me... I am only 4 months in and am out of shape (with a Martial Arts backgorund many years ago decent shape for the average guy, but no compared to the guys that have been doing MT for over 5 years), when I first started I ged after the first 3 rounds and it was all defense from there.. trying to keep my head attached to my shoulders... but now I can put up a fight for 7- 10 rounds, but still after that I am ged and take a good beating :) ... Anyway that is what my gym is like... yours?

01' Chevy Camero Z28. Car's Battery gage bounces up & Down while steadily going up?

The car is a 2001 Chevy Camero Z28 with about 64,000 miles on it and has been well maintained. This problem happens intermitenly and only when Excelerating or is in gear and moving. The battery gage will bounce up and down slightly while steadily increasing. Also when it does this the headlights and inside lighting flicker with the bouncing of the battery gage. Once I put the car into neutral and coast or Idle the battery gage returns to normal, as do the lights. Any ideas what might be causing this????

You are definitely not the kind of person who could end up overeating and getting obese. Just chill. I am adding my daughter's computer and printer to her bedroom. I installed a router and cable connecting from my cable modem to both of our computers and have operational e-mail and internet access. My computer prints, as usual, from my computer on my hp psc 1200 series printer. My daughter has a Dell computer and also a hp psc 1200 series printer. Her printer works fine for copies and when I first installed it, also printed from her computer. Now I can't make either printer work from her computer. I've checked the USB connection from the printer to her computer and it seems to be OK. In the Control Panel/Printer & Fax list, my comuter shows my hp psc 1200 series printer and also an Auto hp psc 1200 series on CINDY-A4CO4MMAO, which I think is the number of her computer. That option doesn't appear on her list of printers. I think I need guidance. I am a 79 year old lady who is reasonably good with my computer but not knowldgable about hardware or networks. Help...Fishtank!!!! Algae everywhere?

Hey my fish tank is gaining algea like none other and I have tried almost every trick in the book. I have an electric catfish in my tank so I can't add any other fish really. I have a planted tank aswell. But the algae on the tank is getting really bad and I don't know what to do to keep it under control. I have ben treated successfully many time by these doctors and owe the profession my gratitude. After a serious car wreck my g p g only prescribed pain pills (nothing against consciences g p c doctors) and in desperation went to a chiropractor who healed me after a series of treatments. Another time after being kicked by a horse another chiropractic doctor brought me back into shape, yet folks keep asking "what do they do" and "does it hurt?". Why is it never George W Bush's fault?

Being a democrat all of my life, I have always been the first to admit it when one of the candidates I helped elect did something not in the best interest of the country. I have noticed that my republican friends through these eight years of declining US prosperity and the war have still never blamed George W Bush for any of it. They claim it is Clinton's fault (after 8 years???) or the democrats in Congress. They look upon McCain as the answer to our prayers to lead us through another four years of more of the same. I just don't get it. If George W. had been my candidate and I had voted for him not once but twice, I would actually be embarred to admit it first of all and secondly I would certainly be ready for change even if it meant switching to the other side. The good of the country is what matters, and in my belief the country is in pretty bad shape right now. hello, this is a revision of a question i had, im going to be more descriptive. i have this feeling of somthing "hard"(like puss or fluid) at the top left of my upper lip, going to my left nasal cavity. im unsure if its MRSA like some people have told me, because i dont have any flu symptoms. i work out but i dont have any open cuts and i wash myself daily. at first i thought it was a pimple, but there is not manifestation that allows me to "pop" it. also when i tried to pop it, it hurt lots. and it is very tender, stings a lil to the touch. i can "feel" it without touching it when i move my lips. it is a little swollen, but only slightly and it hasnt changed a different color. i can see how people would think it would be mrsa and i will see my docter about it.. its not a cold sore. im not ually active (virgin). im male if if that matters. if you guys could list some problems that might be causing this id appriciate it.

i had a D&C done on August 22nd. I was 10w3d. Yesterday when I went to the bathroom there was a pebble sized spot of blood on the toilet paper so I wiped about 3 or 4 more times and only some light pink those times. No more red. I have been cramping off and on for about a week. Well, today I have more spotting but this time it is a brownish color and thick. Not like my normal periods. Has anyone else had this happen? If so, what is going on? Is it my period or something else? I go Thursday to see my OB/GYN for a follow up on the D&C. If you are really serious about rescuing a dog, I suggest finding a shelter or Animal Control Services who have no choice but to put the animals down if they are not given a home after a certain number a days. Many no-kill shelters will give the animals a home until they find one, and as great as that is, sometimes there is a great dog in a shelter that is not no-kill. Look at all your options. You sound like a very responsible 10-13 year old :-)

Frozen pork chop package obtained a crack which opened it. Is it safe?

It is a small crack but noticeable. When thawing in the refrigerator I covered with Reynolds wrap so it didn't get exposed while defrosting. I am guessing it got cracked by the force of other items like pizza boxes and burrito packages shoving into it during it's stay in the freezer. Is it still safe?

From the floating plastic garbage islands in the Pacific Ocean. 2 - a chemical used in the manufacture of plastic resins and polymers is leaching into waterways and causing gender bending because once in the body, it acts like Estrogen. A question about Harry potter which has been troubling me?

the reason they can move and talk is because it's magic. I think that perhaps the paintings are just an imprint of who the person was before they died, but not the actual person themselves. It's like a more sophisticated version of the photographs. The 'people' in the photographs capture their real live counterpart's 'essence' and project them back to, but they aren't really that person just a close copy. They can mimic them, but don't have life in them. I hope this makes some since to you and that I didn't confuse you (I'm good at doing that to people)

I've been trying with my husband for 2 years now and nothing. Help gaining weight...?

You have to take in as much calories as you burn, and if you have a fast metabolism it means you need to eat more then your usual 3 meals. I suggest eating healthy, calorie packed snacks in between meals, try peanut er sandwiches, try eating yogurt with almonds in it, eat lots of fruits instead of chocolate and sweets. You just have to remember that as a "hard gainer" you burn lots of calories during a normal day, so you have to put more in then you burn. I know this because I am a hard gainer and went from 160lbs on a great day to 195lbs, but also try to workout, this will help in building muscle instead of fat, and it helps in giving you more of an appetite too. Lastly if your a smoker you should quit cause that kills your appetite and it will be hard for you to consume as much food as you need to in order to gain weight. Hope this helps and good luck it's hard but it can be done!

I am a short order cook in an upscale restauraunt on Cape Cod.?

I was brought up by the old Portugese ways where not always washing your hands was ok. Especially when conserving water and soap with 10 brothers and 6 sisters was a regular routine. I have very sensitive hands from constantly handling food like onions and garlic. My skin flakes and has painful cuts from the acidity of these foods. The restaurant refuses to supply the restrooms with a quality lotion soap even though I requested it per order of my problem. Cheap soaps wreak havoc on my skin. For this reason I do not wash my hands after using the toilet. The help insists that I am disgusting, but I say, the food is cooked after I handle it, so what does it matter. My question is: If the food is heated up when it's cooked, then what's the problem? I eat it. And it doesn't bother me.

My grandmother on my Mom's side has a-lot of problems (knee pains, feeling hot all the time, back pains, other illnesses) but my dad's side has a clean slate, in other words, they do not have a history of conditions. Because I am a guy, will i take after my dad's side? I hope i do.

My 15 year old son is moving back to live with me. I need advice on making it a smooth transition.?

He has been living with my ex-husband for the last 5 years and they fight bad! Neither one is happy. My present husband and I are prepared to have him move in with us and change custody. However, my 14 year old step-son is not happy and I think is jealous. English is in fact my first language but I also speak Japanese. I am really good at cles like Math and Science, but I can't seem to get my English scores up. I took the PSAT this year and ranked 89% and 69% in writing but scored 36% in critical reading. I can't seem to get my reading scores up no matter how many books I have read. I read many book just this year and read about 20 over the summer. Most of them are teen drama book but I have read books this year like a separate peace, the jungle, and more. 34 weeks pregnant today and have been taking evening primrose oil past 2 days (as birth of first was SO long,87 hours) been getting heavier discharge still normal white colour,just alot more,lots of pressure and shooting pains down below and back aches. How should I deal with this girl?

Baby Red Eard slider????

I have this 2 inch Red ear slider turtle that has been basking for like 4 days straight and is completly dry. He only comes for ater when feeding time.He got bit by my other 3 red eard sliders who have killed a Re eard slider,Alligator snapping turtle,Midland painted, and a diamond back terrapin. They all ganged up on him and now he has missing cace scales. I think hes trying to recover but im not sure And i took him to the vet but he said he was to young to put shot in him to get better. I keep him in a 10 gallon tank for now until he grows a little bit to be with the other red eard sliders. Does anyone know why hes doing this? Thanks

Rephrase question concerning unmarked cars?

concerning my last question, i will elaborate. first i havent gotten a ticket since 2003. second, i realize that there are more tickets given out at the end of the month. third, i notice these officers are breaking their own rules that they enforce. fourth, i do think that less crime would be commited if the cars were maeked. do not try to justify your jobs officers with unmarked cars because the majority of you are just giving tickets throughout the day thus having no need for un marked cars. a few months ago there was a bomb scare where i worked. one of the officers stopped to give out a ticket to a co worker (revenue). so again i ask, whats the purpose of unmarked cars besides creating revenue?

Make story short. Got into minor accident. Car was running perfectly fine until I turned off the car engine. Car wont start. Tried jumping car, no good. No crank, just a single click from starter. I can hear the fuel pump sending fuel. The security light is on. When key is in the on position, security lights flashes every two seconds. Does the security light automatically come on when key is in the on position? Tired using obd 2 tester but it says the car is fine. No codes read. Can this be a grounding issue caused by the accident? Maybe starter may have failed due to the impact. I have a 2000 Chevrolet Impala 3.8.

I picked my child up from a school for lunch. He is 7 and told me all 4 second grade cles had gotten in trouble in PE earlier and they all had to walk laps around the playground at lunch recess. So I took him back early so he could do his time for misbehaving. Due to rain, the recess was a movie on the floor in the basement. I walked him down and about 20 or so students were sitting against the wall, facing it, while the others watched the movie. My child quickly sat with the others facing the wall. I knelt behind my child and asked him what was going on. Another student started telling me that everyone had already sat out in PE. So why were they being punished twice? Suddenly the teacher started yelling at the little girl not to talk, I stood up and went over to her and asked if they had already been punished. She yells at me, tells me no and storms up the stairs to retrieve the principal. I told him how rude and hateful she was and wanted to know about the punishment. He said he would check into it and let me know. When nothing happened, I called the superintendents office. Still nothing has been done. Twenty minutes? They are 7 years old. For years parents have told me it doesn't do any good to complain because no one does anything. They were right!
