Does he want from me ?

so me and my boyfriend went to the movies today, we've only made out and felt each other up, but today in the movies, we got REALLY close, we were totally snuggling each other, and his arm was around me, then his hand reached 'down there' and i could feel him trying to grab something and trying to feel me down there. i kinda pushed him away right before it got way too heated, so he got the message and it was fine, but is this normal for a teen boyfriend ? like anyone else done this type of thing ?
