I'm going snowboarding for the first time. Please help!?

All this feedback so far is pretty accurate. Just remember 100% cotton is not a good thing in the snow. You want synthetic material cause it won't hold the sweat. Cotton absorbs the sweat and stays wet, and guess what that turns to when it's cold. Places sell "first layers". They are just synthetic materials to help breathe. I always wear a first layer (or cheaper equivalent), then something over that and then my jacket. The waterproof pants is needed cause beginners sit on their **** a lot. The waterproof rating on expensive jackets of 10,000 is not a joke. You need it waterproof cause when snow turns to sleet and wetter, you get saturated. If you get lucky with sunny days in the snow then you'll be fine without waterproofing. But sunny days are rare. Have fun. You will love it!!
