How can I get around my husband's cc's policy for online pymts requiring he be a signer on the checking acct?

My husband does not have a checking acct, I have always paid his credit card acct via a separate online site that is no longer going to accept payments for this particular issuer. When I tried to sign up on the issuer's website, they stated the credit card account owner must be a signer on the checking account. Would I get around it by paying online from my checking account's banking website? Will they accept a check from my account that is mailed to them since they will most likely present it electronically? Any ideas or suggestions will be most appreciated.
