Confused...help please!!!?

i had a D&C done on August 22nd. I was 10w3d. Yesterday when I went to the bathroom there was a pebble sized spot of blood on the toilet paper so I wiped about 3 or 4 more times and only some light pink those times. No more red. I have been cramping off and on for about a week. Well, today I have more spotting but this time it is a brownish color and thick. Not like my normal periods. Has anyone else had this happen? If so, what is going on? Is it my period or something else? I go Thursday to see my OB/GYN for a follow up on the D&C. Also...me and my husband have been having unprotected quite a few times since the D&C. Any advice is appreciated
