Questions on skunks?

I have a couple of questions about skunks. Also, please be serious when you answer these questions. What other type of defenses do skunks have to protect themselves besides expelling a strongly smelled chemical from their backside? When baby skunks are born, how old do skunks have to be to use their tail to expel their strongly smelled chemical? Also, what type of chemical gas does a skunk expel when frightened or surrounded by danger?
